Martin Dansant Handcraft 1924 Bb trumpet - silver plated

This is a 1924 Martin Handcraft Dansant Bb trumpet in very good original condition.  It is a rare small bore (.425) trumpet which was discontinued by Martin a few years after this trumpet was made.   It retains it is original silver plating in very good condition with a gold wash bell.

These were made to play in A and Bb and the tuning slide has a threaded lock to allow the tuning slide to be secured in a particular location for either A or Bb, but there are no "marks" on the other slide tubes so while they could be pulled out a bit for A, it might not be all that practical.

The valves show some wear but compression is good and the valve action is smooth. The horn plays surprisingly well and although it is a small bore and has a smaller bell than today's modern trumpet, it has a clear tone and is certainly playable.

Does not come with a case.
