The Fredric Effects Blue Monarch overdrive is based on the 1990s Marshall Blues Breaker and features all the mods offered by the cult AnalogMan King Of Tone and Prince Of Tone pedals.
Don't fancy a 4-year wait for an AnalogMan pedal? The Blue Monarch builds on the AnalogMan design (which is based on the Marshall Blues Breaker) and hits the nail on the head. Get the King Of Tone or Prince Of Tone if you're after a pedal investment...but if you're simply after stonking tone then the Blue Monarch is what you need!
Tim at Fredric Effects has repackaged this circuit into his custom mini-wedge enclosure for 2024, as used for some of his other pedals. It's built like a tank, compact and looks great!
Blue Monarch ControlsAll four controls are easily accessible on the front of the pedal, and the King Of Tone internal dip switches have been replaced with a clipping toggle. In the "up" position the sound is less compressed and more open, with less distortion.
In addition, Fredric Effects has added an internal dip switch to turn on a boost circuit and increase the amount of gain on tap, making this a super-versatile overdrive that will fit well in any rig.
