The Korg Z1 is a 61-key digital synthesizer from 1997 built around Korg's Multi-Oscillator Synthesis System (MOSS), a powerful engine combining physical modeling, analog modeling, and variable phase modulation (VPM) synthesis. It offers 13 distinct synthesis algorithms - covering brass, reed, plucked and bowed strings, electric piano, organ, and more - giving it a uniquely broad tonal palette for a single instrument. Each voice draws on two modeling oscillators, a sub-oscillator, and a noise generator, with 12 voices of polyphony across up to 6 parts simultaneously. Performance is enhanced by an X-Y touchpad, two assignable wheels, and four switches, while the effects section includes dual multi-mode filters, four LFOs, 15 insert effects, and 3 master effects. The synth-action keyboard features velocity sensitivity and aftertouch, and MIDI IN/OUT/THRU plus a PCMCIA card slot round out the connectivity.
A great opportunity to own a Korg Z1 at this price point.
