An '80s classic, often (incorrectly) compared to the Juno-6/60, as each has its own distinct character.

The Korg Polysix is known for its darker, warmer sound, featuring six legendary SSM2044 filters and a triple BBD effects section that delivers its signature Ensemble effect, producing huge, lush string sounds.

This unit has been upgraded with a KIWISIX kit, adding MIDI In/Out connectivity, a sequencer, and 512 patch memories, among many other features.

All six original SSM2044 filters have been replaced with the modern SSI2144 versions, designed by the original filter creator. They faithfully reproduce the original specifications while significantly improving long-term reliability without altering the instrument's sound.

Cosmetically, it is in very good condition. The wooden side panels show some wear on the corners, and there are a few light scratches on the top panel.

The restoration was completed in April 2026, and the synthesizer has been thoroughly tested since then.

Work carried out:

• Installed a KIWISIX CPU upgrade kit
• Replaced all six SSM2044 filters with new SSI2144 versions for improved reliability and consistency
• Replaced one NOS MN3004 BBD IC (sourced from a French supplier)
• Replaced one SSM2046 IC (supplied by Kiwitechnics)
• Replaced all electrolytic capacitors (approximately 60)
• Replaced all 19 panel push buttons with original ALPS parts
• Reduced background noise and improved shielding
• Completely disassembled and cleaned the keyboard
• Cleaned all potentiometers
• Performed a full calibration
• Thoroughly cleaned the instrument inside and out
