This Marshall Origin 50 Head has been upgraded with the Headfirst JCM 800 2204 Jose diode-clipping modification, converting the amp from a clean pedal platform into a true hot-rodded JCM800-style 50-watt Marshall. It delivers the attack, saturation, and midrange punch associated with the classic 2204 circuit at a fraction of the cost.

The amplifier is in excellent, near-mint cosmetic condition and includes the original box, documentation, and factory footswitch.

Modification Overview
The mod transforms the Origin circuit from a clean pedal platform to a legit 50W hot-rodded Marshall JCM 800 2204. The Jose mod adds selectable diode clipping, providing:

• Substantially higher gain
• Tighter low end
• Increased sustain
• More aggressive harmonic content
• Authentic modded-JCM800 lead tones

A 3-way on-off-on mini toggle on the front panel selects the clipping type:

• Left – Asymmetric diode clipping
• Center – Diodes off (pure tube path)
• Right – Symmetric diode clipping

This allows you to move from open, dynamic overdrive to fully compressed, high-gain Jose tones for low volume playing.

Push-Pull Gain Control
The Gain control is push-pull and works in reverse of the stock design:

• Pushed in – Hot-rodded JCM 800 2204 circuit
• Pulled out – Stock JCM 800 2204 voicing

This effectively gives you two complete preamp characters in one amplifier.

Tilt Control
The Tilt knob now functions as a variable bright cap, allowing you to fine-tune high-end bite and attack exactly like classic Marshall bright-cap circuits.

Important FX Loop Note
Because the Headfirst mod uses the tube normally assigned to the FX loop as an additional gain stage, the FX loop is disabled and not operational. The amp is designed to be run straight in or with pedals placed in front.
