This vintage beauty is an extremely rare 1963 Fender Stratocaster L Series, manufactured by Fender (during the Leo Fender era) in a three-tone sunburst finish. The 1963 L Series models are particularly sought after, and you’ll understand why as soon as you plug it into a (high-quality) amplifier—it sounds absolutely magnificent! The guitar has had only one owner, the guitarist from Les Dauphins, who accompanied numerous artists in France in the 1960s and 1970s and took the utmost care of it. We have just refinished it with old-school nitrocellulose lacquer in the spirit of the sunbursts of that era.
Overall Condition: The guitar is in excellent overall condition for its age. The neck is easy to play and the action is low (we’ve just performed a fret leveling job on the neck for perfect playability). The guitar’s finish was recently refinished by us and features beautiful three-tone sunburst in the tradition of the era. The pickups are original and work perfectly. The electronics are mostly original, but have been modified by the owner with the addition of mini switches and a 5 way switch. All other parts are original. The guitar comes in a tweed case with a beautiful patina, though it is not original.
