Suzuki Mandola No. 552 Vintage Japanese Bowl Back Mandola w/ Original Case

Vintage Suzuki No. 552 mandola made in Japan, featuring a beautiful traditional bowl back construction and ornate pickguard design. Recently cleaned, restrung, and set up with comfortable low action. Plays great and has a warm, articulate tone with that classic old-world mandola sound.

This example has clearly been cared for over the years and presents very nicely overall. The bowl back is especially attractive with nicely figured wood staves and a rich aged finish.

The original tuners had deteriorated, so a new set of tuners was professionally installed for improved tuning stability and functionality. The old tuner holes were properly plugged during the process. The instrument is now much more practical as a player while still retaining its vintage character.

Includes the original hard case.

A really cool piece for folk players, mandolin family collectors, studio use, or anyone into unusual vintage acoustic instruments.
