1975's 20th Anniversary Les Paul Custom - just 60 were built, a mix of Alpine White and Black Beauty models. The number of lefties is unknown, but it's thought to be six or less. This is one of them, and it's 10lb 3½ oz of pure, unbridled, vintage Les Paul Custom power! Of course, you can roll the volumes right off and pretty things up when required, but for that absolute vintage balls-to-the-wall Les Paul grunt and swagger, this is your machine.
Condition
All original lefty Black Beauty, from its Pat. No. humbuckers to pots dated the first week of June, ’75, the condition here is absolutely amazing: built fifty-one years ago – looks more like fifteen! Original nitro, original frets, original knobs, original solder… and original purple-lined Gibson hard shell case, also in immaculate condition!
That LP Custom snarl
Mahogany/Maple/Mahogony “pancake” body, with solid Maple cap, 3-piece Mahogany neck, (lovely medium-C profile), original gold waffle-back tuners – and a new set of 11’s, to really reinforce that LP Custom snarl.
Just half a dozen ever built
As we mentioned above, there were just half a dozen of these 20th Anniversary lefties ever built, and this one, (serial number 871458), is one of the cleanest we’ve ever seen.
