Up for sale is a classic Tama Rockstar Pro 16" x 16" Floor Tom from the late 80s / early 90s. This is the "Pro" version, featuring a high-quality lacquer finish rather than a wrap, which allows for better resonance and a premium look. ✔️
Key Features:
Split Lug Design: This drum features the sought-after split (short) lugs, similar to the Granstar/Artstar series of that era. This design minimizes shell contact, providing a more open, resonant, and musical tone. ✔️
Shell Construction: 9-ply Mahogany+Basswood shell interior. It delivers a powerful "punch" with deep low-end frequencies and great projection.
Finish: Original Gun Metallic Grey lacquer. It looks stunning under stage lights. ✔️
Origin: Made in Japan (MIJ) – known for superior build quality and durability. ✔️
Condition:
The drum is in very good vintage condition. There are some minor scuffs/scratches on the finish consistent with its age, but nothing that affects the sound or structural integrity. Chrome hardware is clean with minimal pitting. All tension rods and floor tom leg brackets work perfectly. ( Please see pictures) ✔️
