In addition to the original series, which includes replicas of classic Gibson guitars, Epiphone also has guitars from the Modern series. These guitars are based on classic instruments, but have various practical updates. The guitars in this series offer maximum playing comfort: the neck is dressed in a flat custom C profile. In terms of hardware and electronics, the SG Modern Figured corresponds to the Pro series: Locktone Bridge and Tailpiece, as well as Alnico Classic Pro humbuckers that can be split using a push/pull potentiometer - the volume pots are equipped with treble bleed circuitry. The headstock has also changed: it corresponds to the Epiphone head from the early 70s.
