I am offering here the Amalio Burguet 3M from 1993, a handcrafted in Valencia, Spain, and -signed all solid timber Spanish classical guitar by master luthier Amalio Burguet featuring a fine-grained cedar top, back and sides made of impressively figured Indian rosewood, ebony-reinforced cedro neck, fine ebony fingerboard with 52mm bone nut, high-quality jacaranda bridge with bone saddle, high-quality gold tuners with pearl buttons, as well as hand-carved cedro headstock with multi-ply jacaranda / maple front veneer in a radiant natural high-gloss finish in excellent condition, incl. black hardshell case and professional setup with Savarez 500ARJ strings.

The guitars from the Valencian master workshop of Amalio Burguet and his children, Damían and Vanessa Burguet, have stood for five decades as a symbol of traditional Spanish guitar craftsmanship, 100% handmade, and enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide. The 3M from 1993 presented here is one of the manufacturer’s premium models and impresses with its exquisite wood selection, precise craftsmanship, and a particularly expressive tone even after more than 30 years.

Sonically, the combination of a fine-grained solid cedar top with a back and sides made of Indian rosewood offers a warm, full fundamental tone with quick response and high dynamics. The cedar top responds very directly even to a light touch, producing a round, soft tone with silky highs, while the rosewood provides depth, clarity, and a long sustain. This makes the instrument suitable for both nuanced solo playing and powerful passages with high sound projection.

The ebony-reinforced Cedro neck ensures stability and a comfortable playing feel, while the 52mm nut width provides ideal conditions for precise classical playing and clean articulation. The ebony fingerboard further supports clear tone projection, and thanks to the precisely adjusted string action, the guitar plays smoothly, making it suitable for both advanced players and beginners.

Visually, the guitar presents itself in a classically elegant manner, with the tonewoods—which have darkened gently over the decades—coming into their own aesthetically under the high-gloss finish. An elaborately hand-carved cedro headstock with a wild-figured jacaranda veneer, as well as multi-layered mahogany body bindings, complete the instrument’s high-quality character.

The Amalio Burguet 3M is no longer manufactured in this configuration and features outstanding build quality.

This guitar is in excellent condition and technically flawless. Visually, there are some age-related signs of wear that blend nicely into an authentic player’s patina (see photos). The frets are flawless and the string action is set pleasantly low.
