1953 Selmer Selmer Super “Balanced” Action Alto Saxophone- Paul Desmond Special!
Available today is a gorgeous 1953 Selmer Super balanced action alto sax. The serial number is 52,xxx and this horn just simply sings! The SBA’s are truly the most lyrical sounding of all the vintage Selmers and can really immulate the human expressive voice, more so than ent saxophone ever produced! This one has a fresh $1500 premium overhaul and will bother for years to come. Action feels light; fast and buttery sweetness throughout! This is a gorgeous example without any past damage or major trauma like so many of these old horns have had. The neck is also original with matching serial number and free from past damage. We’re uncertain, but looks like mostly it had a factory refinish at some point but cannot say for sure. The laq is the correct honey brown and the engraving is detailed and sharp throughout. To error on the side if caution the price reflects this. Comes in a vintage Selmer case. If you’ve wanted a premium SBA and don’t wanna pay the 7k + prices a horn in this condition would go for- this is truly a steal! Don’t miss out as this won’t last long!
