Guitar History:
The Gibson ES-125TDC is a vintage thinline hollowbody electric guitar produced between 1960 and 1970, distinguished by its dual P-90 pickups and a sharp Florentine cutaway. Originally introduced as an "economically priced" student model, it has since become a highly sought-after vintage instrument prized for its lightweight construction and versatile "dog-ear" P-90 tone.
FEATURES:
The "TDC" in the model name stands for Thinline body, Dual pickups, and Cutaway.
- Body Construction: Fully hollow with an arched laminated maple top, back, and sides.
- Dimensions: The body is 16 1/4" wide and approximately 1 3/4" deep.
- Neck: One-piece mahogany (transitioning to three-piece in the late '60s) with a rosewood fingerboard and 20 frets.
- Scale Length: 24.75 inches.
- Electronics: Two "dog-ear" P-90 single-coil pickups with individual volume and tone controls and a 3-way toggle switch.
