All-original, all-complete, fantastic Matsumoku build quality EB bass from the early 1970s.

N.B. Not a short-scale!

Condition-wise...

Cosmetically it's in super shape for its 50+ years.

The front and back of the body are in lovely condition while the chunky rosewood fingerboard and frets are hardly worn.

Just a few cosmetic scrapes to the body edges mostly - plus some minor bumps and depressions to the neck. (See photos). Playability is not affected in any way. Overall it has a very fast feel.

This has been professionally set up and it plays superbly.

Action is fast and low, intonation perfect and the original electrics and hardware function precisely as they should.

Even the original bridge cover, mute bar and felt are present and fully functional...

The tone range on this brilliant vintage Maxon pickup is about as good as it gets.

A full sweep of the tone control sounds like switching between multi pickups. From dub thump to double edge razor in a single turn.

This currently has good round wounds on it. (Switch over to flats should you need even more of that disaster movie rumble.)

Overall...

Simple but dead right.

One of the finest Greco Matsumoku-era basses in quite splendid condition. A vintage cherry beauty.

It comes with its original vintage hard shell case.
