1974 Ibanez by Kawai Custom Model 2350 Super 70's Maxon Pickups Pro Setup New String Original Deluxe Hard Shell Case

A really cool 1974 Made in Japan Ibanez Model 2350 Custom Les Paul Style guitar. These guitars were way ahead of their time and of course directed their sales efforts to the Gibson Players that couldn’t afford a real Les Paul. They did a great job…wonderful guitars! Includes the shown Original Deluxe Hard Shell Case!

Kawai produced these cool Custom Model 2350 guitars from 1971 thru 1975. We dated this cool guitar from the pickups. See pic 5. No serial numbers were present in these years. Kawai produced the Ibanez guitars but this one doesn't have the Ibanez logo. Our 1974 Ibanez catalog shows the 2350 model without the logo which we thought we interesting.. There is some thoughts that the unbranded 2350's were produced by Fuji-gen... Either way, quality Japan workmanship on these cool guitars.

For those not familiar with Kawai of Japan, the produced guitars in the 1960's and 70's under many brand name. Names we all know such as Apollo, Barclay, Decca, Domino, Kingston, Lindell, Norman, Prestige, Telestar, Zim-gar and many others!

Here’s what we had to do for this incredible guitar to get it in shape for its new owner. We cleaned it up...A lot...dings and scratches to attest to its vintage age. We rehydrated the fretboard and it came out really nice. The frets are still in great shape. It had a bad bridge pickup ..fortunately we had a spare 1975 Maxon that fit right in with this cool guitar. See pic 6. We filled a couple pickguard holes. We think these flamey tops look better without the pickguard. The new owner can install a repro if they desire.

The guitar has the original Custom truss rod cover, nut, tuners, bridge, tailpiece, One pickup and one Maxon replacement, surrounds, strap buttons, neck plate and back covers. We dated the guitar from the serial number on the original neck pickup. Check those pics!

This Cool Guitar plays as good as it looks.. It has a Rock Maple neck that feels great! We had it Professionally setup with new 10’s and it has great awesome low playing action that very easy on the fingers. The nut measures 1 11/16 inches...it has a 24 3/4 inch scale neck...Bound body, neck and headstock... the guitar weighs 8 lbs 6 ozs. Not too heavy... normal dings and scratches you would expect for a guitar that's 52 years old..it still looks great!
