________________________________
This New Zealand-made pedal produces tube-like overdrive without spoiling the pickup sound! This is one of the earliest models.
Turn down the DRIVE and raise the LEVEL to use it as a booster. As you increase the DRIVE, the low-mids become more pronounced. Raising it too much can result in a boomy sound, so a moderate setting is recommended. Adding PRESENCE brings out the high-mids and improves clarity. While it's often compared to the RAT, the HOT CAKE has a more overdriven, fat sound. While it can sound a bit muffled depending on the guitar and amp, it's recommended for adding thickness to a single-pickup guitar. This is a rare example from the era when the pedal used a squared-off case, different from later HOT CAKE pedals.
*Two set screws may need to be replaced.
Year: 1994
Accessories: None
Responsible: Sano
*Warranty period is one month from the date of purchase.
