The Friedman IR-D dual-channel tube preamp is a complete Friedman package in a compact pedalboard-friendly package.

The IR-D features two identical, fully independent, footswitchable channels based on Friedman's legendary Dirty Shirley/Twin Sister designs. This Dave-modified JTM45 circuit delivers the signature British sound Friedman is known for.

Powered by two high-voltage 12AX7 preamp tubes, each channel delivers the harmonic richness and tactile response of Dave Friedman's finest creations. The IR DSP cabinet/power amp simulation sends studio-quality sound to your DAW or front of house. The IR-D provides easy-to-use controls without complex menus or 100-page manuals. The IR-D doesn't simulate a Friedman tube preamp. It is one. While many available preamp pedals use tubes to "warm up" their digital or solid-state circuitry, two scorching 12AX7 preamp tubes, operating at the appropriate high voltage, are the pedal's beating heart. A true preamp in every way, the IR-D offers all the tone, response, gain, and harmonic complexity you'd expect from a Friedman design.

TWO INDEPENDENT BOOSTS

Both channels feature their own independent and highly modifiable boost circuits. This essentially gives you four channels, accessible with a simple tap of the foot.
