Guild X-79 Skyhawk in the original finish and hard case. Serial number AD100835 indicates 1982 as year of production. Professionally serviced, set up, and tested, then stored in its case for the past 5 years.
Player grade, well cared for with wear expected on a 43 year old gigging guitar. Instrument was professionally serviced and set up, tested, then stored in its case untouched for several years. Excellent playing condition. Controls may initially be slightly noisy due to lack of use, but all are functioning as designed. "Points" of guitar have the usual wear and dings, but no significant damage. Light cracks to pickguard around input. Case is completely solid, with some internal and external wear. All hinges, locks, and clasps are present and functioning.
Information about this model from GAD dot net and the Let's Talk Guild forum:First introduced in 1981 or so, they stayed in the Guild line-up until 1985 with a total of almost 1800 guitars produced. This is a short scale guitar with a 24-fret unbound ebony fretboard. 110″ wide by .03″ high jumbo frets. The guitar is 6lbs 6oz or 2.9 kilos. This is a very well-made guitar as are most all Guilds from the Westerly era. The set-neck joint is very solid, the parts are high-quality, and the over all feel is excellent. The model is renowned for its build quality, lightness, and sustain.
