Berry Oakley was the bass player (and one of the founding members) for The Allman Brothers Band. Berry had a very good bass tone, as heard here in Mountain Jam.
Berry did play a Fender Jazz Bass, but it was anything but stock.
Nicknamed the “Tractor Bass”, it was customized with a Guild pickup manufactured by Hagstrom.
This is version by Warmoth with Hathor Walbucker multicoils pickup, Wal2 style preamp by Analogworkshop, Warmoth precision reverse neck & customized body by OX BIRD BASS.
