HeadlessUSA is proud to offer you a chance to own a rare, USA-built, White Steinberger XM2 bass. This bass has the early body, with black binding. This Newburgh-built bass was originally finished in bright white, but as is common, the color has shifted slightly to a beautiful, light cue-ball ivory color. Definitely a rare-bird in this condition. This bass was just restored and set-up by Jeff Babicz, who was the former head of production at the Steinberger Sound factory in Newburgh, N.Y. Jeff dressed and polished the frets, disassembled, cleaned and lubricated the bridge, and serviced the electronics.
This is a "real" USA Steinberger with a one-piece carbon fiber neck. This is one of the cleanest XM2 basses that we've seen in many years. It easily grades as a near-mint example. Jeff Babicz's abilities in Steinberger restoration are always truly gorgeous. Now that this restoration work has been completed, this beautiful bass should need no further attention for the next 25 years.
A perfect playing bass that's been serviced by the world's top Steinberger tech, it now plays and performs as well as (or probably better than) the day that it first left the factory. This Steinberger XM2 bass will ship in its original black gig-bag with a new black cotton strap and a copy of Jeff's work-order. Purchasing your Steinberger from a trusted source is very important when dealing with these advanced technology instruments.
