Craviotto 5.5x14 Masters Metal Copper Snare Drum from 2009, low serial number of #8 out of 50 made. The collaboration between the Craviotto Drum Co. and Adrian Kirchler's AK Drums in Italy has produced several Masters Metal series snare drums over the years, yielding some of the finest, most sought after metal shell snare drums ever produced. The copper drums made in 2009 were the second round of Masters Metal snares made after the engraved, nickel over brass drums. The copper drums were made in a limited run of fifty 6.5's and fifty 5.5's and feature a hand made, two piece copper shell, nickel plated hardware, AK's proprietary throw off and butt-plate, a nickel Craviotto badge. Each drum is stamped with its unique production number on the inside. In very good condition with some minor surface patina which is typical for these copper shelled drums by AK - they were originally made with a raw copper finish with only some light surface treatment. No dents or blemishes from wear, only from handling. Original snare side head and original snare wires. These drums have great tone - extra warm and have that played in feel and vintage sound thanks to the tonal properties of copper. The handmade shell gives the drum extra character only found in these highly sought after snares. Great for live performance, studio work, or add this unique and rare drum to your collection.
