1984 Tour 24 "Chicago" guitar. This was an early Japanese Washburn telecaster with a heavy Ash body weighing in at around 8 pounds. This particular model does not have the Washburn "Wonderbar" tremelo and instead has a generic locking bridge. These guitars were only made from 1982-1985 and are considered to be fairly rare at this point. Contrary to popular belief the "Chicago" series were indeed made in Japan as were all Washburn guitars of this time period. This particular guitar was bought at NAMM 1984 according to the inscription on the back of the headstock.
Problems:
Locking nut is missing, as well as the original tremelo bar.
Rear spring cover is missing.
Many scratches on both sides, as well as some damage to the red binding.
Binding damage entails about a dozen 3-5mm scratches to the body binding, and the neck binding is pretty much worn off from the 17th-21st fret due to use.
Replaced the strap buttons as well as one of the metal string guides on the headstock.
Aside from that the guitar plays fine and functions 100%. I have not used the locking bridge system due to the missing nut.
This guitar has a very bassy tone that is reminiscent of a Peavey T-60 for some reason. It is a heavy, solid guitar with a specific tone, and it is certainly unique.
