Custom J-Style Fretless 2022 Natural Oil

This is a custom fretless bass made by a luthier in Massachusetts. I initially commissioned it in December 2021, and it finished up & got to me in March. Great bass, plays nice, is really nice, but I just don’t love it as much as I thought I would.

It is missing knobs on the volume and blend pots, I know. I haven’t taken the time to find proper knobs for this bartolini electronics setup

Specifications:
Swamp ash body with birdseye walnut top
7pc birdseye maple/wenge/purpleheart neck
Ebony fingerboard with blue dyed maple fret lines
Bolt-on construction with upper fret access cutaway
34” scale, ~17.5mm string spacing at the bridge
C-shape neck, ergonomic body shape.
Side fret indicators
Hipshot ultralite 1/2in tuners & Hipshot BadAss bridge
Schaller strap locks
bartolini J pickups & bartolini 2-band preamp (stacked bass/treble) with volume and blend (active/passive pull on the volume pot)

currently strung with roundwound strings, BEADG. i need to put flats on it but i can’t find a good set of 5 string flats

Only a tiny bit of wear from the roundwound strings, but it’s nowhere near “pitting”.
