Burns 'The Marvin' 1964 Reissue White Signature Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Burns London ‘The Marvin’ 1964 Reissue in a Shadows White finish. This guitar is a faithful recreation of the original 1964 Burns Marvin and includes the Rez-O-Tube Tremolo with engraved Hank Marvin Signature, Burns Rez-O-Matik US Alnico Magnet Single Coils with 1964 specifications and Burns Gear-O-Matic Gearbox Truss Rod.

The body of this guitar is crafted using American Alder, and the bolt on neck crafted using Maple. This makes for a fairly lightweight feeling guitar with a resonant and bright tone. A 300mm fingerboard radius, roughly 12”, makes for a well balanced feeling neck that suits both comfortable fretting and deep bending.

The trio of Burns Rez-O-Matik US Alnico Magnet Single Coils create a very bright and snappy tone, perfect for recreating the riffs of Marvin. This stunning guitar is a faithful recreation of an iconic guitar, and would be a fantastic addition for any collector or Marvin enthusiast.

Aesthetic Condition

Headstock- The headstock is in very good condition, there are some light markings to the top of the headstock which are visible and appear to be very minor and small dotted scuff marks.

Neck- Very Good Condition

Body- The body is in overall good condition with some minor markings visible when inspecting the instrument. Around the area where your arm would rest there are a couple of minor indents to the finish. On the rear there are few minor indents centrally and the bottom edge from light previous playing wear, there is a small scuff/scratch centrally just above where the strap button is on the rear also. The guitar has other light markings, around the strap buttons and just on the sides in places, but these are minor and not significant.

Condition of Frets

There is some visible playing wear to the frets, with some indents visible on the first few frets not affecting playability.

Current Set Up

Truss Rod & Bridge- Fully Functional and can be adjusted

Height of the string from the 12th Fret- 1.5mm each side

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.

Tremolo System- Fully functional and in good condition

Notes on Set Up

The truss rod requires a specialist key for adjustment which is not with the instrument. We have therefore been unable to validate the adjustment capabilities of the truss rod but I believe this to have remained untouched and the neck relief is also good showing the truss rod is functional. The saddles and setup can be fully adjusted to preference by the new owner.

Further Notes

The guitar is in good aesthetic condition with some minor markings to the top of the headstock and to the body at various points. These are not hugely significant and do not detract from the instruments aesthetic. The truss rod will need a specialist key for adjustment and all other hardware and electrics are fully functional. The playability is good with the frets showing playing wear but not affecting sustain. The machine heads show signs of tarnishing and the hardware on the body shows a minimal sign of such aging.
