For Sale: Used Epiphone Texan acoustic/electric guitar; 1994 limited
edition 145 of 500, made in Gibson Factory, Montana USA. Model: Texan.
Serial #: 91254048
I am the original owner of this guitar, got it new in 1994 and have
adored its tone and playability ever since. Unlike most Epiphone guitars
built in Korea, Japan, and China since the 80's, this model was
actually brought back to the states temporarily and built in Gibson's
guitar factory in Bozeman, Montana USA, along with only 499 others as
part of a centennial anniversary special edition in 1994.
The uniqueness behind this model is that though the name Gibson cannot
be found anywhere on the guitar, it is in fact a Gibson; constructed at
the Gibson factory and crafted in the very same way as all Gibson
guitars made there. Most importantly, it plays and sounds exactly like a
Gibson acoustic guitar, with a deep rich tone, easy fingerboard
playability, good intonation, and lots of volume from a highly
resonating all wood body.
More specs include: round shoulder dreadnaught body shape with rounded
back for added rigidity and volume, solid spruce top, solid mahogany
back and sides and neck, rosewood bridge and fingerboard with
parallelogram inlays, bone nut and saddle, 16.25" body width, 4.875"
body depth, 25.5" scale, original hard shell case, Fishman Matrix piezo
pick-up aftermarket install, and a complete refret.
The guitar has a few minor cosmetic bumps and scratches from the 20
years I've owned it, but is in great condition and plays strong. I
brought it to a private luthier a few years ago to have a Fishman Matrix
piezo pick-up installed, a reinforcement brace put underneath a small
part of the top that had split, and a complete refret job that incurred a
couple minor scuffs in the finish along the neck where the old frets
were taken out.
