Klira, together with Höfner and Framus, was one of the leading electric guitars and bass producers in Europe. In the middle of the 1970s, Klira had to file for bankruptcy. Accordingly the instruments, which are comparatively small in size, are all rarely handmade in Germany. Look at the photos, as you can see with what attention to detail the instrument was built. The pick ups are also own production of Klira (to be recognized by the metal stamped crown, the trademark of Klira) and have a very own sound. For PUs from the 60s, they have an unusually high output. Klira has not only been working on the body shape at Fenders Jaguar and Jazzmaster at the Kentucky, but also at the PUs. They are quite reminiscent of soap bars of a Jazzmaster.
