Our pre-wired harness is designed for some of the most iconic guitars. It uses authentic CTS® Made in USA calibrated pots, a special True Vintage Taper (TVT) series, and a high-quality USA-made switch (or CRL Made in USA in some cases). The wiring is extremely neat and organized, providing better current flow, improved tone, and quiet electronics that fully exploit the guitar’s tonal definition and performance.
The capacitors are Montreux®, General Vintage®, and in some cases Vintage Original®, combined with high-quality modern-style caps. Many musicians find that modern Les Pauls, Stratocasters®, and Telecasters sound dull or lack character. This is often due to lower-grade 300k linear taper pots, which can drown out the high end, making tone dull and the pot taper suboptimal. Modern wiring also tends to muffle the high frequencies.
Our 50s and 60s-style wiring, combined with Gibson-style CTS® 500k audio taper pots or the special 250k ohm pots for Fender Stratocaster® TVTs, helps your guitar achieve maximum tone, while retaining high frequencies even when lowering volume controls. This is a huge improvement over modern wiring, allowing you to use the volume controls without muddying your tone. Like many things from the 50s and 60s, you’ll wonder why this was ever changed!
Please note: Due to stock availability, harnesses may occasionally be delivered with the same CTS® pots featuring a back-dimple design. This does not affect performance or tone.
