I know I'll regret this, but I'm in the market for something else at the moment... This Gabriel V18 head is simply incredible - I've played it side by side with a couple others, and it just sounds better; not at all sure why.
2 x EL84
"Bright" channel (left): EF86 - best true Vox sound I've ever heard from an amp.
"Normal" channel (right): 12AX7 - really brings the classic Marshall crunch
EZ81 rectifier, Class AB circuitry
It was made in 2005; I can tell from an engraving inside the chassis, and I've had the tubes replaced twice in the last 3 years, and this amp is running perfectly. The tolex is pretty beat up, but again, the amp works perfectly.
This is the same amp that is played by the likes of Pete Anderson, Brad Wigg (The Afters), and dozens of other touring and session pros.
