The original department store guitar! This vintage 1950's Kay L1648 has the classic style that made American Rock n Roll the most enduring form of music in the world. Originally sold in the Sears catalog, the list of guitarists that have owned a Kay guitar is a mile long.
Due to their affordable nature, most vintage Kay acoustics have mile-high action and are warped or unplayable... but this one is doing just fine! The action is still fairly low in the lower registers, great for cowboy chords and strumming. It has a woodsy tone with lots of midrange and a nice honk in the bottom end.
