Stamped "SEP 12 1980" this Gibson humbucker is one of my all time favorites. It came to me in a tobacco burst SG Custom from 1980 and, until recently, was my primary tone producer in the neck position of my Les Paul.
These are rare; referred to as "Tar Back's" - I've only seen a few pop-up and sell here on reverb.com in the $190-$220 range and I've had them eyed on my feed for the last 3 years. They're super unique in the fact that they employ three "Indox 7" ceramic magnets. The magnets are smaller yet yield more power and have greater efficiency - not your typical ceramic magnet at all. The bottom plate is brass and the pickup cover is nickel silver. The pickup is then potted in epoxy rather than wax.
Pickup has 12" of lead. Reads 7.68 ohms resistance.
The video below, beginning at 3:10, offers a good idea of how she sounds compared to Gibson's other offerings.
