It was produced in Indonesia as part of the standard line. It replaced the SR505.The SR505E features a double-cutaway okoume body bolted to a jatoba and walnut neck with a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini BH2 passive pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a bypassable three-band EQ, an Accu-cast bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut, and Ibanez tuning machines.For 2021 the fretboard material was changed to rosewood, the hardware was changed to black (from black matte), and a new TV Fuzz Black finish was added as a limited option for some markets.The SR500E and SR506E are four and six string versions, respectively. The SR505EL is a left-handed version. The SR505EPB is a similar model with a poplar burl top. The SR505EZW is a similar model with a zebra wood top.The SR505E was discontinued after 2025. Two new variants took its place for 2026: the SR505A, a similar model with Mono-rail bridges and a roasted neck, and the SR505N, with Mono-rail bridges, roasted neck, and Nordstrand pickups.
