With its superb Amber Sunburst High Gloss finish, it beautifully captures the light and highlights the spectacular grain of the flamed maple, giving the instrument an elegant yet modern visual presence. From the very first glance, it is clear that Ibanez designed this instrument to inspire musicians both through its appearance and its sonic qualities. As soon as you pick it up, one of the model’s greatest strengths becomes apparent: its AEWC “comfort body”, which is slimmer and more contoured than a traditional acoustic guitar. This ergonomic design allows for long playing sessions without fatigue and offers a playing feel closer to that of an electric guitar. The asymmetrical nyatoh neck, particularly smooth and comfortable, allows for fast movement across the fretboard, while the Florentine cutaway provides easy access to the higher frets. Altogether, the guitar delivers a sense of freedom and precision that will appeal both to acoustic guitarists and players coming from the electric world.Tonally, the flamed maple used for the top, back, and sides produces a clear, balanced sound rich in harmonics. The projection is precise, with present lows and well-defined mids that particularly enhance chord playing and detailed arpeggios. Despite its comfortable and relatively compact format, the guitar maintains excellent resonance and a consistent response across the entire fretboard, making it a very inspiring instrument for songwriting or live performance.Plugged in, the guitar reveals its full potential thanks to the Fishman Sonicore pickup paired with the Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with built-in tuner. This electronics system faithfully reproduces the acoustic character of the instrument while providing excellent clarity and a dynamic signal for stage or studio use. The simple and effective controls allow quick tone adjustments, while the presence of both a jack output and a balanced XLR output makes it easy to connect directly to an amplifier, mixing console, or audio interface. The build quality also adds to the charm of this model: an abalone rosette, precise chrome tuning machines, and impeccable finishes all reflect the attention given to every detail. Each element contributes to creating a reliable, elegant, and musical instrument capable of accompanying both daily practice sessions and stage performances. In the end, the Ibanez AEWC400 AMS is a guitar that combines high-end aesthetics, outstanding comfort, and tonal versatility. It offers a modern and inspiring playing experience, ideal for guitarists looking for an expressive electro-acoustic instrument that is easy to play and ready to shine both in the studio and on stage.
