The API 512V 500 Series mic pre takes the iconic tone of the 512C, the sound of countless classic records, and adds some additional features and functionality. Built around the 2520 opamp, this all-discrete preamp sports mic/line switching, an output level control and a 3:1 output transformer tap that drops the overall output level and lets you drive the transformer harder for that signature API sound.
