1935 Martin C-2 Archtop Conversion to Style 42 by Joel Whitehead

Offered here is a remarkable 1935 Martin C-2 archtop that has been expertly converted to a Style 42 by luthier Joel Whitehead. This conversion was completed with exceptional attention to period-correct details while preserving many of the guitar's original components.

The original tuners and snowflake fingerboard inlays remain with the instrument, and it has been completely refretted for excellent playability.

• 1/4" scalloped Adirondack bracing

• New lacquer finish on the top, carefully aged to match the original patina of the rest of the guitar

The new top is fully trimmed in Style 42 abalone pearl with period-correct purfling lines and cream celluloid binding, giving the guitar an elegant vintage Martin appearance.

Condition

This is a vintage instrument and shows honest wear throughout. There are numerous scratches, scuffs, small chips, dings, dents, and other superficial cosmetic blemishes consistent with its age and history. The newly finished top has been tastefully aged to blend with the original finish on the rest of the guitar.

The guitar has been professionally refretted and is ready to be enjoyed.
