Hiwatt DR201 200W Bass Head (needs tube replacement)

Up for sale is a legendary, hand-wired Hiwatt Custom Shop DR201 200-watt tube amplifier head. Built in England in 2013, this is the ultimate clean machine for bassists or guitarists looking for massive headroom, punch, and iconic British tone.

TECHNICAL CONDITION:

The amplifier is electrically healthy, powers up normally.

However, when playing, the amp exhibits intermittent "pops" or "shots", indicating the tubes need replacement.

Instead of installing a random set of tubes myself, I have priced the amplifier accordingly to reflect the cost of a fresh matched quad of KT88s. This allows the new owner to install their preferred tube brand (Tung-Sol, Gold Lion, JJ, etc.) and bias it exactly to their taste.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Cosmetically, the amp is in good used condition. The front control panel is clean, all lettering is crisp. It has spent time in a studio environment and few live shows, and has some typical cosmetic scuffs and edge wear on the corners, as visible in the photos. No major tears or structurally damaging defects.
