Takamine DMP700 MRC Spruce/Madagascar Rosewood 2008 Japan

Up for sale is an exclusive, probably one-of-a-kind Takamine, a custom build based on top-tier domestic 700 series. Model designation is DMP700 MRC, which breaks down as follows: DMP stands for high-end CT4-DX dual source preamp, 700 is series number, MR is Madagascar Rosewood, C is cutaway. S/N 46090592, made in Japan, year 2008. Retail price for this beauty should've been around 400,000 yen in Japan (as it is nowadays for standard DMP700), which was around 3000 EUR back to the day.

All solid woods - top is aged highest-grade Spruce, back is Madagascar Rosewood, sides are Indian Rosewood (rare combination of different rosewood species for one guitar). Neck is made of genuine single-piece mahogany, fretboard is ebony, bridge is Indian Rosewood. Body shape is OM. Scale is 648 mm, nut width is 43 mm. Fret markers are stylish flower pattern inlays, tuners are high-end Gotoh 510 with ivory-coloured buttons - both look fantastic in real life. The rosette is decorated with mother-of-pearl. Electronics is CT4-DX - a dual source preamp combining undersaddle piezo and soundboard transducer signals, one of the best systems available on market. Flawless workmanship quality, as it is always the case with hi-end Takamine guitars.

Excellent condition for nearly 20 years old instrument - the only thing worth mentioning is a tiny hairline crack in the soundhole area which was fixed by glue and now almost invisible. There are some small dings and scratches which are normal for a used guitar. Neck geometry is fine, frets show no wear. The guitar is setup by luthier, strings are low, very comfortable to play. New set of Elixir 12-54 Phosphor Bronze is installed.

Sounds fantastic - a trademark Takamine voice, lush, focused and punchy, wonderfully balanced and very responsive to the touch.
