I am selling Madrona Labs Soundplane SN #0012 out of 90 units ever made. It's a beautiful instrument, albeit a little quirky in the way handmade wooden instruments are. Comes with the original box and a soft case. Cosmetically it’s in good condition, with a few small dents in the wood but nothing you’d notice at a glance. I will provide more detailed photos and video on request.
The video shows me using it with a Kyma patch that maps the surface as an XY controller for a granular sound player. It also works well with Madrona’s and other MPE or OSC instruments.
It’s important to know that Madrona’s native Soundplane software is out of date and only runs on Intel Macs or under emulation on ARM64. However, MEC (Micro Expression Controller) supports the SP and allows it to be used with a raspberry pi as a standalone controller. I have verified that it connects to the Mac version of MEC and sends MIDI and OSC data.
