For sale is a 1979 Masaru Kohno No. 15 classical guitar, handcrafted in Tokyo, Japan by one of the most respected names in Japanese luthiery.

Masaru Kohno guitars have earned an outstanding reputation among classical players for their exceptional craftsmanship, responsive tone, and remarkable projection. The No. 15 model represents an excellent opportunity to own a vintage Kohno built during the era that established his worldwide reputation.

This guitar has just been cleaned, restrung, and set up. It plays comfortably up and down the neck and produces the warm, balanced voice that Kohno instruments are known for.

Condition is very good for its age. The guitar shows normal signs of use including scattered scratches, dings, and finish wear throughout. The back of the neck has noticeable playing wear as shown in the photos. None of the cosmetic wear affects playability.

The frets show light to moderate wear consistent with age and use but have plenty of life remaining.

The included hard case is functional but has two broken latches. The remaining latches still secure the case, though repair or replacement of the broken latches would be recommended.

A wonderful vintage Kohno with the mature voice and craftsmanship that have made these guitars increasingly sought after by players and collectors alike.
