The Technics RS-BX707 is a three-head cassette deck with separate recording, playback, and ferrite double-gap erasing heads, enabling off-tape monitoring for real-time recording accuracy. Its single quartz-referenced direct drive capstan delivers stable transport, complemented by motorized tape loading and auto shutoff. Noise reduction options span Dolby B, Dolby C, and HX Pro, while automatic bias selection covers Normal, CrO2, and Metal tape types. Manual bias and level adjustment per channel, plus the APRS (Advanced Precise Rec.-Level System) and TPS (Tape Program Sensor) for title search, give hands-on control over the recording chain. Metering is handled by digital peak-reading level meters alongside a 4-digit digital tape counter. The unit outputs via two RCA line-out connectors and a gold-plated 6.3mm headphone jack. A TNRC (Technics Non-Resonant Compound) base plate helps isolate the transport from external vibration, and a repeat function supporting up to 16 cycles rounds out the feature set.
