Made to order 2x1 SERIES LINK - Guitar Amp Speaker Selector / Combiner
Handcrafted speaker switching solution for guitar amplifiers
The Series Link gives you three speaker configurations in one compact, roadworthy enclosure:
- Position 1: Speaker cabinet 1 alone
- Position 2: Speaker cabinet 2 alone
- SERIES: Both cabinets in series for higher impedance
Why use two speakers:
- More presence and coverage - fill the room with sound
- Flexible positioning - stack them, place side by side, or spread across the room
- Different tonal options - series connection offers unique sound characteristics
- Greater flexibility - choose the right setup for each venue or recording situation
Why Series:
• Increase total impedance for tube amps (two 8Ω cabs = 16Ω)
• Tighter bass response and enhanced damping
• Different tonal character vs parallel operation
• Safe loading for vintage amps designed for higher impedances
• More details at the bottom of this description
Specifications:
• Heavy-duty professional rotary selector switch
• Professional 1/4" speaker jacks
• Continuous dummy load protection for tube amp safety
• Supports amplifiers up to 150 watts RMS
• Durable textured finish enclosure
Series Impedance Examples:
- 4Ω + 4Ω = 8Ω total
- 8Ω + 8Ω = 16Ω total
- 16Ω + 16Ω = 32Ω total
Made to Order: Each Series Link is hand-built to order with quality components. Custom configurations available - contact me for:
- Different configurations (parallel, series/parallel combinations)
- Multi-speaker setups (1x3, 1x4, etc.)
- Custom enclosure colors/finishes
- Specific impedance requirements
Perfect for:
- Tube amp users wanting higher impedance options
- Players with multiple cabinets seeking more coverage
- Studio applications requiring different speaker combinations
- Vintage amp enthusiasts
- Anyone seeking more tonal flexibility and room-filling sound
IMPORTANT - Speaker Impedance Safety: ⚠️ Always match your amplifier's rated impedance to the total load. Using series operation increases the total impedance - ensure your amp can safely drive the resulting load. Most tube amps handle higher impedances well, but always check your amp's specifications. Never exceed your amplifier's minimum impedance rating. When in doubt, consult your amplifier manual or a qualified technician.

Notes on Series connections -
Increased Impedance:
Wiring in series adds the resistance of each speaker together, allowing higher impedance loads that protect amplifiers from drawing too much current.
Enhanced Damping/Tighter Bass:
The increased load reduces the damping factor, which helps control "overhang" (the speaker cone continuing to move after the signal stops), resulting in a tighter, less muddy bass sound.
Reduced Power/Volume:
Because the impedance is higher, the amplifier produces less power and volume, often resulting in a cleaner sound.
Load Management:
Series wiring is useful when you have low-impedance speakers (e.g., two 4-ohm speakers) and a 16-ohm amplifier tap.
