Here we have a faithful reproduction of the legendary '66 Telecaster by the unforgotten Albert Collins, also known as the “Ice Man”. This extraordinary guitar was crafted by the Fender Custom Shop with the utmost care and attention to detail to capture the unique sound and style of one of the greatest Blues musicians of all time. Albert Collins (1932-1993) is one of the most influential Blues guitarists in music history. With his unmistakable style, distinctive sound and electrifying stage presence he shaped an entire generation of musicians. Collins was known for his exceptional fingerpicking technique, his unusual tuning (F minor) and his ability to express pure emotion in every note. His nickname “Ice Man” comes from his legendary song ‘Frosty’ and his unmistakable “ice-cold” tone, which captured the hearts of Blues lovers worldwide. So it's no wonder that the Fender Custom Shop dedicated its own Signature Tele to him, which as expected has it all. The flawless natural look alone is enchanting all along the line, where you can not only see the wonderful grain of the ash wood, but which also finds its perfection in the elegant white binding. The super playable maple neck with its comfortable "C" profile, 9.5'' fretboard radius and Vintage-Style frets is a perfect match. In terms of sound, we are dealing here with an extremely resonant Telecaster that has been fitted with "Custom Texas Special" pickups, which is why you can look forward to an extra portion of punch. A bell-like Blues sound on the neck, plenty of twang on the bridge and open, transparent mid-position sounds - you really have everything you could want from a reference Telecaster! So if you're looking for a very special Telecaster in top condition, where sound, playability and look come together to form a fantastic overall package, this is the one for you.
