Short Description:
A Mid 1970s Martin with Cool Vibes to boot! Equipped with Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood!
What We Think:
Condition: Used, Very Good. This guitar has had a neck reset, a new nut installed, and a refret all at some point in its life, and the integrity of these previous repairs has been deemed in good state as per our luthier.
SP Luthier Notes: Performed light fret dress, finish work, and cleaned. The peghead was broken, our luthier did an extensive peg head repair, and touched up the finish. No further work was required.
1976 was the first year that the HD-28 was back into production after the 1940s, so this is a watershed guitar both in history and for incredible tone! There is something about playing vintage acoustics that's really singular; whether you play open chords or single note runs, this guitar just gives it all up and without any of the sometimes muddying reverberations of other, more recently made acoustics. And, as worn in as it is it feels like an old friend - don't miss this one!
