The Rock Preamp is inspired by the legendary preamplifier section of the Schaffer-Vega Diversity System (SVDS). Designed by Ken Schaffer and released in 1976, the SVDS was the first wireless system reliable enough for major world tours. While icons like David Gilmour and Eddie Van Halen utilized the system, it was Angus Young of AC/DC whose tone became synonymous with the unit. Angus discovered that his studio recordings lacked the "roar" of his live performances, leading him to run his guitar through the SVDS even in the studio. Our pedal captures the core analog signal path—the input, optical limiter, and output amplifier—removing the wireless circuitry to deliver that pure, hit-making saturation.
