Here is one *RARE* gem! This, from all research according to the previous owner, Gibson Guitars, George Gruhn, and us here at Southern Music, this is a one of a kind 1952 Gibson L7-CE, in fantastic shape for a 72 year old instrument. The pictures here will never be able to do this instrument justice like seeing it and playing it in person. So, to start, the finish is in top notch, very few blemishes, very little checking, all are pictured. The finish is still very glassy and clean, no pitting or orange peel grainy-ness, nothing cloudy. The neck is straight and plays phenominally, the overall action is very low with no buzz, and the Bigsby works flawlessly. The neck has been professionally re-fretted by Butch's Guitar Repair in California and the fret job is amazing. Probably one of the best re-frets I've ever played. The pickups were originally Gibson "dogear" P-90 pickups but were changed to Rowe D'Armond humbuckers early in this guitars life. At one point in time this guitar had Grover tuners installed, but have since been returned to the Gibson Deluxe tuners. The pickguard also may have been replaced at some point. Weight is 6.5 lbs.. According to the Gibson Ledger in 1952 there were only 57 produced that year, and that would include custom orders, which this one very well could be. Will include very vintage (60's or 70's) Epiphone case that is still in very good shape. Thank you for checking out this awesome piece of guitar history and please feel free to reach out with any questions and please come check out this one in person!
