The Time Based Pulse Divider from WAVE Synthworks is a divider module for triggers, gates, or any periodic voltage signal that it can detect. The Time Based Pulse Divider is essentially a timer being used to divide incoming pulses and output triggers based on those divisions. The divided pulses from the TRIG OUT are output as a pattern of triggers. It allows the first pulse that it receives to be sent to it's output as a trigger. It then starts a timing cycle. Any new pulses at it's input will be ignored until the timing cycle ends. The pulses are divided in this way. The LED on the module will remain on until the timing cycle ends. As soon as the cycle ends the Time Based Pulse Divider will accept the next new pulse at it's input starting the process over again.
The timing cycle can be varied manually with the Coarse and FINE knobs as well as the CV input. The CV input can be attenuated with the CV ATTN knob and the CV RNG switch to help get things adjusted the way you want them.
The Time Based Pulse Divider can also have it's timing cycle reset. This can be done by pressing the reset button or with the external reset input. Using the RESET input can also create interesting patterns. For example: You can use a gate or trigger from a sequencer to reset the module to keep the Time Based Pulse Divider in a more regular pattern.
Varying the rate or pattern of input pulses, turning the knobs, sending in different CV levels, and different patterns of resets can all create new and interesting patterns of triggers.
