2006 Fender Jazz Bass V 5 String JBV Olympic White Left Handed Japan CIJ

Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Jazz Bass V in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a custom color Olympic White gloss finish. Offered in a rare left-handed configuration, this bass was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and not intended for export, combining the vintage-tinged aesthetics of Fender Japan's '62 reissue models with the modern performance of a 5 string instrument.

Strung with 45-130 roundwound strings, this Fender pairs a solid alder body with a one-piece maple neck and thick slab rosewood fretboard, a tonal platform that yields an even, warm sound across all strings. The low B is fat and rumbling without being loose, and the instrument retains the midrange forward sound and present top end indicative in the Jazz Bass design. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and weighing 10lbs 1oz, this Jazz Bass plays well with low action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C shape at the nut, filling out with a bit more roundness and substance in the higher registers of the fretboard, measuring .855" deep at the 1st fret and .955" at the 12th. On the slab rosewood fretboard, the slender frets have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns with virtually no wear. The neck is straight with an ideally adjusted truss rod and plays well in all registers. The bass features the traditional 34" Jazz Bass scale, and the nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The peghead sports a round string tree and original chrome tuning machines with clover buttons that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

All of the electronics work as they should, with stock pickups and pots. The chrome hardware has great shine, and the dark red tortoise pickguard contrasts with the Olympic White gloss finish. There's some light pick scuffing across the guard, and just a few minor finish scratches and nicks on the body, mostly relegated to the back and lower bout body edge. The neck profile gloss is flawless save for one small finish chip adjacent to the 5th fret side dot.
