An upgrade to the classic EMG 85 pickup, the 85-X delivers aggressive tone with more headroom. EMG's solderless Quik-Connect system makes installation easy.

An EMG 85 Pickup -- With That Added X Factor
EMG pickups are renowned for forging a sound full of body -- an unstoppable wall of tone that maintains a surprising amount of clarity and articulation. Your EMG 85-X active bridge humbucker takes this design and brings in more headroom for your signal. This active pickup utilizes alnico V magnets and a cool-looking and protective outer casing, and pairs well with almost any other EMG pickup in the neck position. Get a little extra push from this new and improved EMG 85 -- and let your licks soar with assured sonic potency.

The Upgraded EMG 85: More Headroom for Your Axe
Slap this humbucker into your axe's bridge position and feel the decibels flow from your fingertips to the world around you. Take all of the elements of the EMG 85 -- sharp response, pristine clarity, incredible sensitivity, and imposing tonal power -- and add in a more potent and organic expression coupled with greater headroom, and you'll hear your axe like you've never heard it before. This humbucker does its job best in the bridge position, works beautifully for aggressive leads and rhythmic chugs, and pairs well with virtually almost any other EMG pickup.

Close Aperture Coils and Alnico V Magnets
Your EMG 85-X active humbucker utilizes close aperture coils and alnico V magnets to energize your signal. Alnico V magnet circuit designs tend to yield a bright and aggressive tonal character. Your ears will experience the enhanced dynamics of this awesome pickup through every wailing bend or heart-stopping run. Crank up the gain and get some interesting sounds you never knew your guitar could make!

Protective Casing
Keeping all of the uninvited elements -- dirt, sweat, and dust -- away from your EMG 85-X's inner circuitry is a sinister-looking protective outer casing. This shield is what makes EMG pickups visually stand out in the crowd, but it also keeps your signal crystal-clear. Every strum and every note from your axe will make its way through to your amp in that awesome articulation that EMG pickups have become recognized to produce.
