One of the most uncommon and cool of the modern Japanese made clones. In the early to mid-'00s, Navigator, ESPs high end brand of clones released a very accurate copy of a 1954 black beauty. These were only manufactures for a few years and are no longer available. In the 10 years that I've owned this, I have seen maybe 2 pop up for sale.
Navigator guitars are meticulously well built using the finest materials and this example is no different. The body and neck are Honduras mahogany and there is no maple cap (like the original). The finish is lacquer. The fingerboard is ebony with pearl blocks and the neck has a nice fat U shape. The frets have no visible wear. The guitar weighs 9.5 pounds.
The pickups are also true to the '54 BB. The neck pickup is the original Duncan Custom Shop Staple pickup and the bridge pickup has been upgraded to a Bare Knuckle P-90 (the original Duncan P-90 is not included).
I would describe the condition as very good. There is a small ding around the binding near the control knobs (see pic) and a little very light surface scratches on the rear.
Original hard shell case is included.
