Hot Rubber Monkey is the name, don’t wear it out! Here’s a fantastic overdrive pedal from J Rockett Audio. This is a very compact and easy to use pedal, with four main controls to adjust your tone. Clockwise starting at the top left we have Level which adjusts how much volume attenuation is done when the pedal is activated. Next is the gain, which allows you to push your desired amount of drive into the pedal’s signal, farther right increases the gain level. The Top-End knob increases the amount of high frequencies that have gain driven to them, which can add presence and clarity to your overdrive tone. The last pedal is MidRange, which provides the gain to mid frequencies, giving your overdriven signal a fuller tone to fill in the soundscape.
