The BOURGEOIS mandolin series was developed from the long-standing vision of renowned guitar and mandolin maker Dana Bourgeois.

This is a BOURGEOIS M5A-SB, an exceptionally clean used example featuring a beautiful natural finish and gracefully contoured body.

The instrument was designed by Dana Bourgeois, who personally hand-selected the highest-grade torrefied tonewoods for this model. It is carefully crafted at the Eastman workshop, a renowned stringed-instrument manufacturer whose instruments are highly regarded worldwide.

The transparent sunburst finish beautifully highlights the natural character of the wood, giving the mandolin an almost artistic appearance.

The tailpiece features an innovative hinged cover designed by Bill James. Because the cover remains attached to the tailpiece, it helps prevent common problems such as forgetting to reinstall the cover or accidentally dropping it during performance or transportation. This thoughtful design combines a classic, elegant appearance with modern practicality.

The mandolin delivers excellent note definition even in the high positions, with crystalline highs and smooth, controlled low frequencies. Its tonal character is particularly well suited to classic bluegrass styles, while its versatile response makes it suitable for a wide range of musical situations.

The instrument is in exceptionally clean condition, with very few noticeable scratches, and has been carefully maintained. The neck is in good condition, and playing in the high positions is smooth and comfortable without any noticeable stress.
